New aroma coming to Tacoma
I so rarely talk about myself - really about me - on this site that it's awkward to do so now, but this is one day I should.
Folks often tell me they read the site but don't know I (Rich Boudet, Arizona Daily Star) put it together. Anyhow ...
I've got a new job. Or should in a month or so.
I'm heading back to my native Northwest to be a sports designer for The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash.
The TNT (roughly 127,000 daily, 145,000 Sunday) puts out a solid sports section. I'm looking forward to being on staff, being around family and friends, and still getting to play in a Mac newroom (they're also InDesign guinea pigs for the newspaper world).
The Arizona Daily Star is a fantastic newspaper for a designer, I must say. They are not afraid to break the rules on occasion and see how it works. I couldn't have asked for a better place to play the past two years.
The site here will go on. It's been great getting to know so many fellow designers through the internets.

Congrats. Love your site and loved Tacoma/Seattle last time visited friends there. Keep us up-to-date on the Mac/InDesign progress. Our paper is looking at same set-up in the coming year and I want to know all the good and bad......

Congrats Rich. We're right on Tacoma's heels with the InDesign (we went live about two months ago). Lots of bugs to work out, but it's fun. And for you, you get to live in the Pacific NW again. Doesn't get much better than that.
