Nothing against the Pittsburgh T-R, (though for rooting for the Steelers, they should all die, die, DIE!), but, seriously, "Champs" on anything but a first edition? Ugh. Maybe I'm just being a headline snob, or maybe I'm underestimating the vast desire for keepsakes, but, you, know, we should take some effort to write a headline specific to that day's events. Save the "Champs" for the reprints.
(I could go into a whole diatribe on how we'd never think about putting "Dead!" on A1 on the day a leader died, or putting "Oscar!" on the L.A. Times features front the day after the Academy Awards, but I'm unpopular enough as it is in Pa., I think.)

Once we got past the papers of record, there were FAR TOO MANY headlines that either involved thumbs or Rolling Stones songs. ... When one or two papers do it, it's cute. When 90 percent of papers do it, we have issues.
